Pence Pushes U.S., Canada, Mexico Trade Deal In Indianapolis

Vice President Mike Pence is pushing voters to contact their members of Congress about support for the proposed trade deal between the U.S., Mexico and Canada, known as the USMCA.

Pence promoted that in Indianapolis Thursday.

Congress must approve the USMCA for it to take effect and Pence’s message is simple.

“It’s time for Congress to pass the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement and pass it this year,” Pence says.

Pence touted the deal’s purported impact for the country and the Hoosier State, specifically.

“Nearly half of the exports from the state of Indiana go to Canada and Mexico,” Pence says.

And the vice president made only an oblique reference to an impeachment inquiry launched by House Democrats this week.

“Whatever they want to do in Congress to obstruct our agenda or roll out their latest accusations against the president or divide this country, President Donald Trump and I are never going to stop fighting,” Pence says.

Indiana’s congressional delegation is split along party lines on the impeachment inquiry.
