INDIANAPOLIS – Construction contractors plan to close ramps at the Interstate 65 Exit 124 interchange at 71st Street for pavement repairs.

For the next three nights, the following ramps will be closed beginning at approximately 9 p.m. and open before 6 a.m. the next morning:

  • Tues., Aug. 18 - 71st Street to northbound I-65
  • Wed., Aug. 19 - northbound and southbound I-65 to 71st Street
  • Thurs., Aug. 20 - northbound and southbound I-65 to 71st Street

INDOT says motorists should expect recurring overnight lane restrictions as crews continue work to pave a new asphalt surface on more than 5 miles of I-65 on the northwest side.

The lane restrictions will repeat each night through August as the existing pavement surface is milled away and a new one is paved on all I-65 lanes between I-465 and I-865 (mile markers 123 to 129).

Milestone Contractors is the contractor for the $3.2 million project, which is expected to be complete by September.
