Indianapolis Oasis, a nonprofit that promotes healthy aging through education, lifestyle and health programs, has partnered with a national initiative to teach seniors technology skills and how to protect their information online.

AT&T volunteered employees to lead a training session for the local community.

OASIS Program Manager Angela Pellman says local seniors struggle to keep up with evolving technology.

“We’ve found that bringing in their experts to share information about what is current and what to look forward to in technology really helps older adults stay relevant in today’s technical world,” Pellman says.

The national program offers professional tips and guidance for basic technology training open to all members of the local community, with a specific focus on safe navigation of the internet. The Indianapolis training included topics like social media, online privacy and protecting personal data.

Digital You is an ongoing national initiative.
