Milk Bank Hosts Breast Milk Donor "Drive-Up"

Milk Bank Hosts Breast Milk Donor "Drive-Up"

The Milk Bank in Indianapolis will host its first drive-thru milk drive Friday, April 24 to help babies and their mothers who are in need of breast milk.

Donor mother coordinator Lauren Duncan says while the visits are normally held in a health care office, steps are being taken to limit contact during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The first step moms need to visit our website to pre-register for the event and she fills out a quick, maybe 10 question screening form, and we will contact her to go over that," says Duncan.

Donors will remain in their vehicles and communicate with staff via phone before entering the organization's office.

The event will be held 2-5pm at the organization’s office on E. 62nd  street.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports the coronavirus has not been found in breast milk.
