A logistics company plans to open a distribution center in central Indiana that will employ up to 500 full-time workers.

Whitestown officials announced Wednesday night that Style Link Logistics LLC plans to spend $3.5 million to open the center at the 65 Commerce Park Building 4, just east of Interstate 65.

The company is affiliated with online retailer Shein, and the distribution center will provide returns-processing and fulfillment services for Shein and several other major brands, the Indianapolis Business Journal reported.

The Whitestown Town Council on Wednesday approved a four-year personal property tax abatement for EC Best Service Inc., an affiliate of Style Link Logistics.

“The hundreds of jobs they are bringing is welcomed news in our community,” Town Council President Clinton Bohm said in written remarks.

Whitestown is located about 20 miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis.

The abatement is expected to save the company up to $98,000, while providing $140,000 in personal property taxes to Boone County and $600,000 in local income taxes.

The abatement agreement states that employees at the distribution center will make an average wage of $16 per hour.
