The League of Women Voters of Indianapolis wants to help people understand the voting process.

Members are holding training sessions to allow more people opportunities to help those with questions. Board member Erin Kelley says there are several myths about voting.

“Some people believe you have to re-register to vote every time there’s an election which is not true," Kelley says. "The only time you need to update your voter registration is when you move or change your name. but that’s another myth is that some people think I’ve registered once I never have to do it again—again not true.”

The trainings are open to new members of League of Women Voters and nonprofit and other community leaders as well.

  • Sunday, Sept. 8 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at North United Methodist Church, 3808 N. Meridian St.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Eagle Branch Library, 3905 Moller Rd.
