It's Time To Apply For Sustainability Awards

People that are making sustainable strides in Indianapolis can be rewarded for their efforts.  Applications for the 5th annual Sustainability Awards are now being accepted.

The winners are honored for their efforts to make Indianapolis a more livable community.  This year prizes will be given in three different categories including social, economic and environmental.

Scott Manning with the Indianapolis Office of Sustainability says anyone making a difference could be recognized.

"The awards are open to individuals, not for profit groups, private companies.  Really groups of any size, small and large." explains Manning.

In past years, winning projects have ranged from urban gardens to expanded recycling efforts.  Applications can be found online at indy.gov/sustainindy and are being accepted until Feb. 12.

The awards will be given out this spring.
