Indianapolis Public Schools is selling six vacant properties as part of an effort to reduce maintenance costs and raise money.
Properties for sale include: former Phillips/Revival Temple Church, School 97 on East 10th Street and School 20 on East Pleasant Run Parkway South Drive.
A bidding process for the properties begins June 29 and ends July 1.
IPS is expected to lose at least $10 million in state funding over the next two years based on the new school funding formula approved by the General Assembly. If the district can not maintain its current enrollment of 30,000 students, it will face additional funding cuts.
The Indy Chamber has also suggested IPS determine the market value of the former Coca-Cola Bottling Plant, the IPS main office and other buildings for potential future sale. The chamber issued a report last month that recommended ways for the district to increase efficiency in operations, contract services, transportation, human resources, finance and information technology.
IPS has set up a web page for its sale listings at: myips.org/realestate
