Indianapolis Public Schools will offer students free breakfast and lunch during spring break next week.
The food service will be available at sites around the district from Monday, March 25 to Friday, April 5. More than 80 percent of IPS students qualify for free and reduced lunch.
This year’s offerings include eight locations for breakfast and 18 sites for lunch.
The Bus Stop Café will make stops at several community sites including the Haughville and Irvington public library branches, the Martin Luther King Community Center and two stops at the Stratford Apartment Complex.
“Nutritious meals are essential for children every day, not just school days,” IPS Food Service Director Dena Bond says. “We’re excited to be able to provide this service to students during the two-week spring break.”
IPS served more than 700 meals a day during spring break last year.
A complete list of locations and times of service is available on the IPS website.
