IndyHumane hosts its 18th Annual Mutt Strut on Saturday.
Marketing Manager Hayley Wolf said the event will be held at Victory Field for the first time.
“Due to the pandemic, scheduling and lots of other concerns, we wanted to have a fall event, hoping more people will be vaccinated, the numbers would be better, and Victory Field turned out to be a great venue,” Wolf said.
The event is the nonprofit animal shelter’s biggest fundraiser and the largest pet walk in the Midwest.
“We really rely on individual fundraising and generosity and support of the community.”
More than 1,000 people and their dogs are expected to attend.
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., and opening ceremonies begin at 9:45 a.m. A parade of adoptable pets with Strut wil follow at 10 a.m.
The Strut will be around the perimeter of Victory Field and at nearby White River State Park.
MOre information is available at the Indy Mutt Strut website.
