Spokesperson Courtney Rogers said there’s a long list of available positions.

“We need lifeguards, pool managers, cashiers, camp counselors, food program coordinators, stage technicians for our concerts, so we literally have a job for almost anybody,” Rogers said.

The department now offers a $200 “Early Bird” sign-on bonus to new and returning seasonal employees after 100 hours are worked. It will also offer a $200 bonus to part-time seasonal and part-time year-round staffers who refer a new hire.

Those applying for a lifeguard position must be at least 16 years old, pass a lifeguard test and attend training. Scholarships are available to help cover the training costs.
