INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis International Airport is getting artistic this month.
By the end of July, the airport will be displaying three works of art.
Two are digital pieces by Stefan Petranek. The Indianapolis-based artist created two new one-minute works especially for the airport based on his original footage filmed while flying, on the airport grounds, and inside the terminal.
"Gray Wing" and "Approach" explore flight as a triumph and a tenuous grip over the forces of nature. One work is on display through Sept. 30 and the other is on display through Dec. 31.
Chicago artist Ted Sitting Crow Garner will install his 15-foot-tall abstract steel sculpture "Tussle" July 28 in the airport's north terminal garden, where the painted work will remain on display for two years.
