COVID-19 cancelled last year’s Indiana State Fair, but fairgoers can return this year and the theme is “Celebrating the Hoosier Spirit.”
Spokeswoman Sharon Smith said there won’t be capacity restrictions, but health precautions will be in place.
“We certainly will be aware that COVID is still an issue, so if you are fully vaccinated you will not need to wear a mask, but if you are not fully vaccinated we do ask that you follow CDC guidelines when it comes to mask wearing,” Smith said.
Over 500 hand sanitizing stations and hand washing stations will be provided around the fairgrounds.
The fair will also be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays to “allow for a refresh of campus” as a COVID precaution. The Park and Ride shuttle has also been eliminated. The tractor shuttles will be free this year to ensure a contactless experience for those who want to get around the grounds.
The fair runs July 30-Aug 22.
