Indiana State Enrollment Hits 42-Year Peak

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Indiana State University officials say the school's enrollment has surpassed 13,000 students for the first time in 42 years.

School officials tell the Tribune-Star that improved retention of students helped boost the school's enrollment to 13,183 the fall semester. It's the sixth year in a row of overall enrollment increases and the highest enrollment since 1972 .

The university says it has a record number of 2,739 new freshmen and 2,302 graduate students.
