INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Department of Revenue has joined the Internal Revenue Service in opening the 2015 individual income tax filing season and processing of tax returns.

The department announced Tuesday that a customer call center is available from Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 317-232-2240. This phone line also supports Spanish-speaking taxpayers. It says that last year, taxpayers waited an average of only 2 minutes and 45 seconds to have their questions answered by the call center.

It says taxpayers also can submit general questions through the department's Facebook or Twitter accounts. However, it says taxpayers should never send personal information such as Social Security numbers through social media.
