Bands of America Super Regional Championship Returns to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis

Downtown Indianapolis will host hundreds of young musicians this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium for the Bands of America Championships.

Jeremy Earnhart, president and CEO of Music for All, said bands will be evaluated by a panel of nationally recognized music educators and marching band experts.

“There will be 64 groups from seven states, including 43 marching bands that are from the state of Indiana, and the top 14 scoring bands over the course of the prelim competition from Friday to Saturday will compete in finals on Saturday night,” Earnhart said.

Bands of America Championships returned this year after the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The enthusiastic return of the bands performing at this championship is a testament to the resilience, dedication, and hard work of these young student musicians, their teachers, school administrators, parents, and families," Earnhart said.

The Indianapolis Super Regional is one of 22 Bands of America marching band championships across the country this fall.

Music for All will present the Bands of America Indianapolis Super Regional Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium  on Oct. 22-23, 2021.  Friday’s Preliminary competition will run from 10:15 a.m. to approximately 9 p.m. Saturday’s Preliminary competition begins at 7:15 a.m. and concludes at 3:45 p.m.

Gates will re-open for finals Saturday evening. Music for All will list performance times at
