Host of 'This Old House' Coming to Indy

The host of the award winning PBS series "This Old House" and "Ask This Old House," is bringing his knowledge and expertise to the Indianapolis Home Show this weekend.

When asked about his favorite home improvement trends for 2017, Kevin O’Connor says he likes the continuation of the informal home..

“The way our houses are continuing towards open floor plans, getting family and guests into what used to be very closed off spaces and making kitchens part of family rooms,” he says.

The projects on the show are fun to watch from start to finish, especially when professionals make it look so easy.  But improvement projects don’t always turn out as expected. 

What’s the best advice that O’Connor has for homeowners tackling improvement projects? 

Patience and fortitude.

“It’s going to take longer than what you planned and it’s going to cost more than what you expect,” O'Connor says.

O’Connor will be at the Indianapolis Home Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Jan. 20 at 3 p.m. and Jan. 21 at 1 p.m.
