GREENSBURG, Ind. (AP) — Honda has started production of its new 2016 Civic sedan in Indiana.

The Indianapolis Star reports that production of the 10th-generation model started Tuesday at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana's plant in Greensburg. Honda Manufacturing of Indiana president Bob Nelson says the company spent more than $900 million in investments in the state over seven years.

The Greensburg facility opened in 2008. More than 2,000 work there and it has the capacity to produce 250,000 vehicles a year.

Greensburg is about 50 miles southeast of Indianapolis in Decatur County.
