The Indiana State Fair returns this year with new safety rules for minors and bag sizes.
A parent or a chaperone must accompany minors under 18 if they enter the fair starting 6 p.m. This applies to all 18 days of the fair, according to the new safety measures. Each adult can chaperone up to six minors and must be present at the fair.
According to an updated bag policy, visitors will only be allowed to bring bags that are 9 inch by 10 inch by 12 inch or smaller.
Weapons of any kind are not permitted at the Indiana State Fair and visitors will be screened through metal detectors at entry gates, according to a press release.
“We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming experience for all and we can’t wait to welcome Hoosiers back to this beloved summertime tradition,” said Anna Whelchel, chief marketing & sales officer of the Indiana State Fair.
The Indiana State Fair starts on July 28 and runs through August 20. It will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
