INDIANAPOLIS – Big news is coming. Or at least that’s the word from John Gregg.
Gregg, 60, put the word out on Twitter encouraging people to sign up on his website, greggforgovernor.com, to be the first to know what his announcement might be.
If the website is any indication, Gregg will be throwing his name into the 2016 race for governor. Gregg lost the election by a small margin to current Gov. Mike Pence, a Republican, in 2012.
In October of 2013, he announced he would not seek the seat in 2016 but instead, wanted to focus on family issues. He made that announcement on Facebook.
At that time Gregg wrote the decision came “despite the overwhelming support and encouragement to make another run.”
No stranger to the Statehouse, Gregg is a Democrat from Sandborn. He served as a state representative from 1986-2002, including a stint as House speaker.
