Ghastly Weather Forecast Threatening Trick-Or-Treating

Ghastly Weather Forecast Threatening Trick-Or-Treating

With gusty, wet weather predicted for Thursday, trick-or-treaters may be looking for a plan B.

The forecast for Halloween includes 30-40 mph winds, with gusts up to 60 mph, and a possibility of rain showers. The less-than-ideal conditions have led some communities to postpone festivities.

Fishers Police have announced that the official trick-or-treating hours have been moved back one day.

Muncie has also moved its trick-or-treating hours to Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Other communities are leaving the possibility of trick-or-treating on Halloween open. Westfield is asking residents to vote their preference for either Thursday or Friday on its Facebook page

There are indoor alternatives available to Central Indiana’s little ghosts and goblins on Halloween.

The Indiana State Fairgrounds will host its traditional Trunk or Treat event  from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Champion’s Pavillion.

Area Simon Malls are offering hours for children to trick or treat at participating retailers for free candy and fun as part of their Malloween events.
Malloween hours are as follows:

  • Castleton Square Mall from 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Washington Square Mall from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Greenwood Park Mall from 6 to 8 p.m.
