Funeral Service Begins For Officer Renn

Family, friends, and police officers from around the country are filing into Bankers Life Fieldhouse for the funeral service for IMPD officer Perry Renn.

Renn was shot and killed while responding to a call on the near east side, Saturday night.

He is being remembered as a family man who loved traveling and animals. He's also being remembered as a hero who gave 22 years to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and 10 years to the U.S. Army.

Renn's life will be honored with speeches from Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, DPS Director Troy Riggs, IMPD Chief Rick Hite, as well as close friends.

He will be laid to rest later today at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Perry Renn was 51 years old.
