Free Red Line Rides End Sunday

IndyGo will end free rides on the Red Line Sunday.

The free ride service was scheduled to end at the end of September but has been extended twice due to delays in the MyKey ticket system.

Director of public affairs Lesley Gordon says MyKey is not ready, but a temporary system has been set in place.

“In the meantime, we have a temporary fare ticket solution," Gordon says. "It’s a little simple, you’ll just have a physical ticket, but it will allow us to collect fare.”

When MyKey is ready, it will include ticket vending machines and a mobile app that allows riders to buy tickets on their phones. It is unclear when the system will be ready.

Starting Sunday with the temporary system, standard fare is $1.75. Paper tickets will be sold at any station. Two hour, day and week passes are also available.
