Indianapolis' minor league baseball team says a child was hospitalized after being hit by a foul ball during a game Saturday night.

The Indianapolis Star reports the Indianapolis Indians say on-site emergency personnel treated the child before the child was transported to an area hospital. The press release didn't say what the child's condition was and team spokesman Charlie Henry said he didn't have an update Sunday morning.

The release says the "young fan" was sitting along the first-base line at Victory Field. The Indians extended safety netting at the park in 2017 and signs ask fans to stay alert.

The incident comes after Chicago Cubs outfielder Albert Almora Jr.'s foul ball struck a young girl in Houston during a game against the Astros last week.
