Snow, high winds and freezing temperatures will make for hazardous weather conditions Monday and Tuesday morning.
National Weather Service Indianapolis Meteorologist Crystal Petit said driving will be dangerous.
“We will see winds of 20 miles per hour with gusts of 30 miles per hour so there will be a lot of blowing and drifting because this is also a drier snow so it will blow and drift around a lot. Visibility will be nil at times so you won’t be able to see anything in front of you” Petit said.
There could be 10” to 12” of snow by midnight. Petit said another storm system will then move into the area later this week.
“Looks like this could be another significant snowfall really picking up Wednesday night and going through the day on Thursday and into Thursday night.”
A winter storm warning remains in effect for the area through Tuesday morning.
