Dennis Intermediate School Remains Closed

Dennis Intermediate School in Richmond will remain closed until January, after a 14-year-old exchanged gunfire with police and died at the school last week. School officials say Dennis students resume school Wednesday, but classes will meet at the high school.

No students at the school were harmed in last week’s shooting, but the district has kept Dennis Intermediate closed for clean up following the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing, but police say the shooter was not a student at the school. The district says Dennis Intermediate will reopen to students after winter break ends Jan. 7.
