Commission Delays Broad Ripple Project Vote Again

Commission Delays Broad Ripple Project Vote Again

The fate of a proposed $25 million mixed-use project in Broad Ripple remains unknown. The city will take two more weeks before it decides. The project calls for apartments, 340 parking spaces, and a Whole Foods at College Avenue and the Central Canal.

The Metropolitan Development Commission did not vote on a rezoning request for the project because not enough members were present for a quorum.

The commission wants to allow the decision to receive full attention.

The proposal will be debated again October 16.

Those against the project say there are concerns with the project’s size and the impact on local businesses.

Supporters say it will generate new business and growth opportunities for the area.
