Indianapolis is experiencing a surge in violence. And as stay-at-home restrictions are lifted, the Office of Public Health and Safety was able to resume in-person violence reduction work -- including the Safe Summer initiative and downtown canvasing.

WFYI's Jill Sheridan spoke with Indianapolis' Community Violence Reduction Director Shonna Majors about those efforts.
