City of Fishers To Hold Vietnam War Veterans Day Ceremony

FISHERS, Ind. (AP) — An Indianapolis suburb will celebrate National Vietnam War Veterans Day with a free public ceremony.

The event starts at 11 a.m. Friday in the Fishers City Hall auditorium.

Military veterans who served during the Vietnam War period and their families will be honored. A lapel pin presentation is part of the ceremony.

The city says speakers will include Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness and retired U.S. Navy Commander El Ahlwardt.

Fishers is a commemorative partner of the Vietnam War Commemoration. The program began in 2012 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, and to thank and honor Vietnam veterans.
