The city of Indianapolis responded in full force when last week’s winter storm brought ice and snow to the area over several days.

Indianapolis Department of Public Works Spokesman Ben Easley said more than 200 trucks responded to clear city streets.

“As the Thursday snow wrapped up around midnight into Friday that’s when we really got to make some headway both on the thoroughfares and secondary streets with our internal crew,” Easley said.

DPW also brought in contractors to help clear residential streets.

As the temperatures go up and the snow melts, drainage could become a problem.

“If it warms up in the next day or so and folks are starting to see some of the ponding to happen, they are certainly able to get in touch with Citizens Energy group first. They help us triage a lot of the ponding requests,” Easley said.

Residents can also report untreated roads to the Mayor’s Action Line (317 327-3601) or through the Request Indy App.
