Indiana State PoliceCarroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby says his office is investigating an Indiana man arrested in Colorado for allegedly threatening people along a trail, but he says there’s not yet reason to believe it’ll be a break in the case of two Delphi girls murdered earlier this year.
“So this guy is not necessarily any more of a person of interest than, you know, John Doe that we investigated three weeks ago," Leazenby says. "As far as my overall feeling, two words I’ve been using the last 24 hours is ‘cautiously optimistic.’”
Colorado authorities shared information about sex offender Daniel Nations with Indiana cops to aid in the investigation of the murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German.
Leazenby says the case is far from cold, and his officers are working with an Indiana State Police task force to conduct field follow-ups.
