A popular art fair will return to Indianapolis for NBA All-Star weekend.
BUTTER at Indy’s Home Court will feature sports-related photographs, paintings and live performances from 30 local Black artists.
Deonna Craig, the director of BUTTER, said the pop-up exhibition caters to a different audience than previous fairs, and that the basketball-inspired theme gives guests a new visual experience.
“Sports is something that many families celebrate together from childhood to adulthood and the legacy that's embedded in that,” Craig said. “You'll get that same feeling when you walk into the Artsgarden for BUTTER at Indy’s home court.”
This is the first pop-up exhibition for arts and culture group GANGGANG. However, like other BUTTER fairs, artists will receive all profits made from the sale or loan of their work.
The exhibition is free and open to the public from Feb. 16-18 at the Indianapolis Artsgarden.
