NASHVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Brown County's famed rolling hills have helped earn the southern Indiana county a designation as a top mountain biking destination.

The International Mountain Bicycling Association recently named the county a Bronze Level Ride Center after scoring its biking trails. Those trails were built and are maintained by the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association.

The new honor puts Brown County among such biking hotspots as Park City, Utah and Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Visitors Bureau Executive Director Jane Ellis says the county has been honored before for its mountain biking opportunities "but never something of this magnitude."

The county seat of Nashville about 50 miles south of Indianapolis is a rustic tourist town where visitors flock each fall to see the colorful foliage of nearby Brown County State Park.
