Ballard Attending Conference Of Mayors

Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard is in Washington D.C. for the 82nd Winter Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

The meeting runs Wednesday through Friday, and Ballard is one of 280 mayors from across the country attending.  Discussions will range from the economy to clean energy.

Marc Lotter with the Mayor's Office says Ballard will chair two committees while at the conference.

"One would be the water council where cities come to learn about clean water and working with the EPA," explains Lotter.  "The other is the pro-sports city alliance, where the mayors of cities that have major professional sports teams can talk about current issues."

Mayor Ballard will speak to both committees and a technology and innovation taskforce during the event.

Lotter says the conference provides a great opportunity for Indianapolis to learn form other cities while highlighting what is going on here.
