Annual Event Informs Teens About HIV

Annual Event Informs Teens About HIV

An annual program puts the spotlight on AIDS prevention, and teens are the target audience.

Educating young Hoosiers is the goal of the 10th Annual HIV Statewide Awareness Program.  The devastating virus may not get as much attention as it once did but is still a threat to people in our community, especially young people and minorities.

This is the second year DJ Wrekk1 has been involved in the program that presents vital HIV information in an engaging way.  Still, Thursday’s event at Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School is not just a chance to get out of class.

The Indiana State Department of Health is one of numerous local and statewide organizations that come together for the presentation.

Performances by local theaters and personalities are part of the program that also encourages student interaction.
