3 Firefighters Fall Through Floor, Escape Serious Injury

Three Indianapolis firefighters were slightly injured while battling a fire in a vacant building near the intersection of Michigan and Ketcham streets.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities say three firefighters fell through a second-story floor while working to extinguish a fire at a vacant home in Indianapolis.

The fire department says the firefighters were slightly injured in the about 10-foot fall on Tuesday night. Other firefighters went inside and got them out.

The firefighters who fell where taken to a hospital for evaluation of injuries including back, elbow and foot pain as well as sight burns.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
