2-1-1 Celebrates 2-11

2-1-1 Celebrates 2-11

The community is invited to learn more about a valuable service center on February 11.

2-1-1 day is a time when Hoosiers can head out to their local Connect 2 Help call center to get a better idea of how the organization is helping people every day.

Lynn Engel, Connect 2 Help CEO, says the annual celebration features breakfast, speakers and call center tours when visitors will be able to listen live.

"They could hear someone calling to ask for help to feed thier families, to find shelter, right now they could be calling to ask for help preparing taxes or help pay thier electric bill." explains Engel.

This winter has been especially hard for many people in Indiana.  The service center has been taking an increased number of calls to 2-1-1, helping people find community resources during difficult times.

Attorney General Greg Zoeller will speak at the event which is open to the public.  Breakfast starts at 8 a.m. at the call center which is located inside the United Way Building, just north of 38th on Meridian St.
