About the Event
Join WFYI Live on Sunday, August 11 at 2 p.m. at Kan-Kan Cinema for a family-friendly screening of SciGirls and Across Indiana. This event will include a viewing of SciGirls’ Dragonfly Detectives and Across Indiana’s recent short about React’s production of Dreamland.
In Dragonfly Detectives, the SciGirls visit the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. Logan, Luci and Saloni investigate how dragonflies help park scientists monitor water quality at the Indiana Dunes National Park. Across Indiana’s Dreamland episode explores how the kids of today will bear the weight of our climate's future, but have we ever really stopped to get their point of view on the matter? Dreamland is a post-apocalyptic dreamscape of a play devised and performed by teenagers who are suffering from an 'Eco-Anxiety' that asks why their generation should care if adults don't seem to.
About SciGirls:
SciGirls is an Emmy award-winning PBS Kids television show, website, and educational outreach program that draws on cutting-edge research about what engages girls in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning and careers.
