Indiana Historical SocietyIndiana Historical Society

In our role as Indiana’s Storyteller, we at the Indiana Historical Society believe in sharing the past in ways that resonate in the present. For 180 years, we’ve been collecting, preserving, interpreting and sharing our state’s history.

We maintain the nation’s premier research library and archives on the history of Indiana and the Old Northwest, support local historical organizations throughout Indiana, publish books and periodicals, and offer a wide variety of statewide programming.

Now open at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center is the Indiana Experience — high-technology interactive exhibits that share the tremendous collections of the IHS with the public. Like WFYI, our goal is to share our wealth of information in meaningful and enjoyable ways.

We are happy to support WFYI Public Broadcasting in its efforts to inform, entertain and educate the people of our state. Information on the Indiana Experience and other IHS programs is available at www.indianahistory.org.

Second HelpingsSecond Helpings

Second Helpings works every day to eliminate hunger and empower people through hunger relief, job training and food rescue.

We’re more than a soup kitchen or a food pantry – we’re a community kitchen. We’re not just teaching people to cook - we’re providing an avenue for people to transform their own lives. We don’t just collect food – we rescue food because we can’t stand to see it go to waste when others have none.

In our 11 years, we have delivered more than 4.5 million meals to more than 60 local agencies. We have trained more than 350 unemployed and underemployed individuals in the culinary arts and sent them out for meaningful careers. All of this done with donated food.

We partner with WFYI because they offer a unique and compelling voice in our community that is unparalleled in today’s media landscape. We are proud to support WFYI.
