Spirit and Place 2010: Food for Thought - Nov. 5-14, 2010Family, food, fun, preparation, stories, serving others:  the 2010 Spirited Chase will again have something for everyone!

Begin your experience by submitting you favorite family tale about Thanksgiving.  We'll have Lynn Rosetto Kasper of The Splendid Table choose her favorites, and we'll invite you to record them to be played on Thanksgiving Day along with Lynn's annual Turkey Confidential program -- the one where cooks in the process of making dinner call with their questions, fears and hopes!

Story submission winners and adventurous people of all ages are invited to join us on Saturday, November 13 at WFYI for the 2010 Spirited Chase. Assemble a car full of family and friends and begin the day with a light breakfast, a food delight or two, and then receive instructions to travel to the first of four mystery destinations that will provide you with food for thought. Along the way you will learn, taste, discover and be inspired to think differently about the role food plays in our lives.  At each stop, we'll provide information about your next destination. We'll end the day together, sharing food in many ways. WFYI producers will film the adventures for later use, and post photos, stories, and video on the web. Follow WFYI on Twitter and friend us on Facebook, too!

Call (317) 636-2020 or email chase@wfyi.org for more information. Registration is $25 per vehicle by November 5 – check back soon for an online registration form.

(Guests will receive bags that will include information about pantries, food rescue, slow food, and more. We also anticipate having opportunities for people to sign up to volunteer for such organizations.)
