Caring for Life Caring for Life
Organ transplants were nearly unthinkable 60 years ago. Now, they save people’s lives daily. A recent PBS documentary called the The Science of Miracles details the history of organ transplants and the challenges doctors and patients face searching for matching donors.

Life in a Nutshell
Beginning July 5 at noon

Dick Wolfsie, an award-winning syndicated columnist, author and Hoosier broadcast veteran of more than 25 years, will share his own unique brand of humor with WFYI Public Radio listeners in a lively new series of weekly commentaries that will air on 90.1 FM, beginning July 5.

Wolfsie’s essays will provide Central Indiana public radio listeners with a candid, witty and always quirky glimpse into everyday life. The segments, which will be titled Life in a Nutshell, will air Saturdays at Noon on 90.1 FM — between the station’s weekly broadcasts of Car Talk and A Way with Words. (An encore presentation of Life in a Nutshell can be heard Sundays at 8:35 am during NPR’s Weekend Edition.)

WFYI FM 90.1 has partnered with the Economic Club of Indiana to record and broadcast presentations from the club’s monthly luncheons. The program will air the first Sunday of each month and replaces The Commonwealth Club in the 6 pm time slot. Many talented and articulate leaders are scheduled to present their thoughts and ideas during the 2007-2008 season.
