The Taste of Broad Ripple returns to the far north side part of Indianapolis Saturday from 3 to 10pm.

Visitors can park at the Glendale Mall and take a free shuttle to the heart of Broad Ripple where they will find dozens of food vendors, a beer garden, games for kids and  plenty of local music.

Organizer Jennifer Brindoocie says  local chefs will also be hosting a Duck Cook Off.

“They will have 35 minutes to prepare the most creative, tastiest duck dish," Brindoocie says.  "And then we will have four judges that will select a winner on that.  We will also have one duck being graciously pardoned, and Maple Leaf Farms has set that up for us.”

Broad Ripple was once known for its large population of ducks who lived along the canal. Next Sunday, June 25, that same canal will be the sight of the annual Rubber Duck race.
