Indiana State University plans to demolish the Statesman Towers, two buildings that formerly housed its colleges of education and business

University vice president Diann McKee says the buildings now known as the Statesman Towers will come down sometime within the coming year.
The Tribune-Star reports Indiana State announced plans several years ago to demolish the towers on the Terre Haute campus, but they were put on hold while a developer considered possible re-uses of the buildings. McKee says that didn't work out.
Both buildings are empty and neither is being used. McKee says asbestos removal is being completed.
The cost of demolition is projected at $4 million.
The land the buildings stand on will become green space.
