U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) will meet Wednesday with President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Donnelly says he feels prepared for the meeting – even as other Democrats criticize the GOP for a lack of transparency.

Senate Democrats have pressed Republicans to hold off nomination hearings until documents from Kavanaugh’s years as White House counsel are released. And Democratic leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) reportedly even asked members not to meet with the nominee until those files are secured.

Donnelly brushes aside those concerns.

“I’m going to continue to do my job and review all the documents that are there and, from the materials that I see, make a determination whether that should be enough,” Donnelly says.

And Donnelly says he hasn’t made up his mind about Kavanaugh.

“I have no preconceived notions. I have no litmus test. And I have an open mind on this,” Donnelly says.

Nomination hearings are set for next month.
