Indianapolis City-County Councilman Jeff Miller has been charged with three counts of child molestation. Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry filed the charges Friday afternoon.

Miller is a Republican who serves District 16.

IMPD officers interviewed eight witnesses starting Oct. 20. During those interviews two girls, both 10 years old, told police that Miller had touched them inappropriately. All three counts against Miller, which are Level 4 Felonies, concern these two girls.

Court documents show a search warrant was used on Miller’s home Oct. 21, when officers were authorized to take photographs and look for body massagers.

According to the prosecutor’s office, there are no plans to request a special prosecutor.

State Sen. Jim Merritt, who also serves as County Party Chair for the GOP, says he called Miller and demanded he resign from City-County Council.

Merritt says he expects a letter of resignation from Miller soon.
