Community Action of Greater Indianapolis was originally created as Community Action Against Poverty in 1965. The organization provides programs and services, such as housing counseling, to low-income residents of Indianapolis, which is defined as a household income at or below 125% of the federally-determined poverty level. The counseling covers areas budgeting, first-time home buyers and reverse mortgages, loss mitigation and foreclosure prevention and credit repair.
