Beginning December 1,
2003, WFYI moved to a new configuration
for our DTV lineup. One of
the promising capabilities
of DTV is multicasting,
the ability to send more than
one channel of programming
within the allotted channel
spectrum. Our multicast schedule
was expanded to three channels
- PBS HDTV, WFYI TV 20 upconverted,
and WFYI+ – a mix of
the best in public television.
This configuration will be
in effect
24 hours
a day, allowing our viewers
to receive a digital HDTV feed
around the clock.
