Stepping Up, Standing Out

Watch This Segment Online.
Description:Our first trip begins in your imagination. Picture a bright red rose in the middle of a field of sunflowers. Picture a unicorn running with a herd of wild horses. Then, answer this: it's not hard to stand out in a crowd, is it, if you’re determined to be someone who’s completely different from every one else around you. And so it is with the subject of our first story. Tish Lyndsey is a unique singer who hopes to make it big while staying close to her roots in Indianapolis. So, how to you make the brass on either coast sit up and take notice when you’re in the Midwest? You do it by being one-of-a-kind.

The Zionsville Candle Company

Watch This Segment Online.
Description:Ah, ‘tis better to light one soy candle than to curse the darkness, or drink soy milk, or eat a soy-burger. At least, that’s what a fledgling company up Zionsville hopes you’ll think, for they’ve found a new use for that little bean of which we are proudly the 3rd most prolific grower in the nation. So let’s head up to Boone county for story that will most certainly shed some "light" on this burning topic.

Rebound!

Watch This Segment Online.
Description:So, what do cars and basketball have in common? Well, at one time, you could trace the origins of professional basketball by listing all the teams that got started in towns that had vibrant auto parts factories. Those towns included Fort Wayne, Anderson and Detroit. Of course, as Pacers fans know too well, Detroit kept their pro team, but the Anderson and Fort Wayne teams are no more. Until now. The Anderson Indiana Alley Cats are making quite a name for themselves by bringing professional basketball on a smaller scale back to the littler ‘burbs of Indiana, and that’s got interest in the sport on the rebound.

Performers from Zimbabwe, Brazil, France, Iraq and other countries translate life into songs that speak to all people. Where cultural and ethnic boundaries melt, Lotus performers and listeners are united by artistic expression.
