WFYI celebrates its ongoing partnership
with the Arts Council of Indianapolis with, All
Access, an intimate portrait of the artists and
arts organizations that make special contributions
to the quality of life in the Indianapolis area.
The program, which is hosted by Zach De Pue,
concert master
for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Cynthia
Layne, an accomplished vocalist, demonstrates how
the impact extends far beyond the enjoyment
of the audiences that attend theaters, concert
halls or museums in the city. All Access showcases
how people, from all walks of lives
and of all abilities, have been affected by experiencing
and creating art. Viewers will be introduced to
an at risk youth who was given
a second chance as a member of the Metropolitan
Youth Orchestra; discover a new and exciting partnership
between the Indianapolis
Symphony Orchestra and the Central Indiana Hispanic
community; meet an internationally known dancer
who takes young people under his
wing; and learn about the vital roles that VSA
arts of Indiana, Interaction Theater, Dance Kaleidoscope
and other cultural organizations are
playing in the local community.
Front Row Center
It’s simply not possible to attend all of
the great performances that take place in
Indianapolis during the course of the year.
Front Row Center delivers some of the
great moments on stage in Indianapolis
from 2007. Highlights include performances
by jazz legend Jimmy Guilford,
string sensations Time for Three,
Indianapolis Opera’s Carmen, the
Indianapolis Civic Theatre’s tap dancing
tour de force 42nd Street and a powerful music and accompanying
solo dance performance from Brenda Williams and Darren
Maxey at Spotlight 2007.
