Join WFYI Live on Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m. at Kan-Kan Cinema to learn more about the conservation efforts being made both locally and nationally to rehabilitate natural habitats. This event will include a screening of The Big Oyster episode of PBS NATURE’s Wild Hope series and a viewing of new episodes of WFYI’s Across Indiana shorts series. The Across Indiana episodes feature the efforts of the Pokagon band of the Potowatomi tribe to restore wetlands in Kankakee and an examination of the preservation of Evansville’s Wesselman Woods.

Centuries of pollution despoiled New York Harbor, turning it into a virtual dead zone. But now, the most ambitious restoration project in any city on Earth aims to bring it back to life. Ecosystem restoration projects like these aren’t just necessary in the largest cities on Earth, but also in smaller communities like Kankakee and Evansville, Indiana.

This event is part of the WFYI Live at the Kan-Kan's event series on the second weekend of each month. Tickets are free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required.
